Ceyear Launches New 16613/16614/16615 Series Noise Source

Ceyear has introduced the new 16613/16614/16615 Series Noise Sources, designed for RF, microwave and mmWave noise figure measurement applications. The product family covers a wide frequency range from 10 MHz up to 110 GHz and includes standard as well as intelligent noise source models with BNC, I²C and USB drive interfaces.

Noise sources are used to generate random, continuous spectral signals that serve as noise power standards for noise figure measurements. With stable output noise power, uniform spectral density and multiple frequency/SNR configurations, the Ceyear 16613/16614/16615 Series can be used with noise figure analyzers, signal and spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers and PC-controlled test systems.

The new Ceyear noise source family is divided into three main series. Each series is designed for a different type of measurement setup and control interface.

The 16613 Series is the standard noise source line. It covers frequencies up to 110 GHz and is suitable for conventional measurement systems using a BNC driver interface.

The 16614 Series adds intelligent functionality through an I²C bus interface. These models can electronically store SNR data and support automatic identification when connected to compatible measurement instruments.

The 16615 Series is the USB version, intended for modern automated and PC-controlled test environments. It supports USB-based communication and can be used with Windows and Linux test systems.

The Series 16615 USB Intelligent Noise Sources can be paired with Ceyear's TianHeng Star series of noise factor analyzers, vector network analyzers, and signal/spectrum analyzers; the 4082 and 4052 series of signal/spectrum analyzers; and other hosts. They can also be paired with a computer for programmed use.

  • Intelligent Noise Sources are plug and play with electronic storage of SNR data

The 16614/16615 series noise sources support an automatic intelligent identification function and plug and play capability. They have built in electronic memory that stores frequency and ultra noise ratio data pairs. After connecting them to noise coefficient measurement instruments, the ultra noise ratio of the noise sources can be automatically loaded into the noise coefficient measurement instrument's ultra noise ratio table. This improves measurement speed.

  • Intelligent Noise Sources have built in digital temperature sensors

The 16614/16615 series of intelligent noise sources has a built in digital temperature se nsor that detects changes in ambient temperature in real time. This sensor is used for temperature
correction of noise figure measurements, thereby improving measurement accuracy.
